The Endowment Fund

What is an Endowment Fund?

An endowment is a fund that is “permanently restricted” which means the original donation is never spent.  Only a portion of the interest or earnings from the endowment (typically 5%) is spent on an annual basis. The Friends of Pleasant View endowment fund is managed by the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin. Professional money managers oversee the fund, investing in stocks, bonds, and other instruments.

What are the benefits of an Endowment?

An endowment contributes to the financial health and strength of Pleasant View by providing the capability to continue our services into the future. Since only the interest and earnings from the fund can be used, not the principal that anchors it, the Fund is a symbol of permanence for our organization’s standing in Green County.

Why should I give to Pleasant View’s Endowment Fund?

Your gift supports Pleasant View’s mission to provide compassionate nursing and rehab care that is affordable for the elderly in our community. Your donation will leave a legacy, ensuring that the future generations of Green County citizens who need our services will be cared for. Also, the Friends of Pleasant View Foundation is a member of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin, a registered 501(c)(3) Corporation. Every gift is tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.

2022 SPECIAL PROJECT UPDATE

Atrium

“That would be amazing”, said one resident filled with jubilee. “It would be so peaceful” exclaimed a resident, “I like it” another resident proclaimed. These are just some of the positive responses we heard from residents when we showed them the Friends of Pleasant View Foundation’s plan for their next Special Project. A beautifully designed glass atrium, a blended extension of the building to look as though it has been there for years.

This new space would be strategically placed to have easy access for the residents to enjoy the beautiful scenery and rolling hills of Green County.  Pleasant View already has a wonderful outdoor space; however, often times residents are not able to enjoy it due to mobility issues or weather. Wisconsin winters can be very long when you stay inside all day.

The atrium would allow plentiful natural sun light into the space and put the residents in the middle of nature. There are so many health benefits that sun gives us such as the importance of Vitamin D promoting a better immune system. The sun triggers melatonin production which promotes healthy sleep. The mental health benefits of sun and nature are well-documented. In short, the improvement to the residents’ quality of life would be tremendous. The estimated cost of this project may run anywhere from $100,000 to $400,000.
