Permanent Food Service Worker

&

Temporary Food Service Worker

Pleasant View is looking for one permanent and one temporary Food Service Worker for the dietary department. Looking to fill both positions as soon as possible! Temporary shift would be 5:45am-2:15pm and includes every other weekend through the end of the year. Amount of shifts will vary.   Starting pay is $11.01.  The purpose of this position is to assist in food preparation, food serving, and kitchen and dining room clean up at Pleasant View Nursing Home.

DUTIES FOR THE FOOD SERVICE WORKER POSITION:

These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Assists in food preparation for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. Performs tasks as directed by Food Service Supervisor, Cook, and Cook’s Helper.
  • Prepares residents’ food trays. Checks trays for correct cards and food requests/orders. Places trays on carts to appropriate floor.
  • Makes coffee, pours milk, coffee, tea, into appropriate containers.
  • Fills in for or relieve missing employee when needed.
  • Performs clean-up tasks including clearing dining room tables, washing trays, food preparation surfaces, pots, pans, utensils, food preparation equipment, dishes, cups etc. Fills dishwasher, dries, and puts away food service items.

Physical Requirements for Food Service Worker Position

  • Ability to operate equipment and machinery requiring simple, periodic adjustments. Ability to move and guide material using simple tools.
  • Ability to coordinate eyes, hands, feet, and limbs in performing coordinated movements such as tightening, inserting, and mixing.
  • Ability to exert moderate physical effort in sedentary to light work, involving climbing, balancing, kneeling, stooping and crouching.
  • Ability to exert mildly heavy physical effort in moderate to heavy work including lifting/carrying (0-34 lbs. approximately 34-66%; 35-100+ lbs. approximately 1-33%).
  • Ability to place and remove items at or above eye level.
  • Ability to recognize and identify similarities or differences between characteristics of colors, tastes, and odors that are associated with food.
